HEATHER MARIE COMBS
A Letter from the Editor,
Let me introduce myself: I am The Face Magazine’s new Editor-In-Chief. And beginning with the eighth issue - reimagined and redesigned - we will strive to always keep you engaged with beautiful and meaningful ideas, words and images within a larger point of view. To start, I have been a magazine devotee, first consumed by their intricate and well thought out images and stories, until a journalism class at my Alma Mater, The University of Alabama, introduced me to my first official writing job. A past time I had always enjoyed personally, now I was introduced to the exciting world of muse discoveries and true story telling. My debut into the fashion industry was thanks to a Public Relations company assigning to me the accounts of the city Fashion Week and two high-end boutiques. Post graduation, I packed my bags, stored my collection of fashion magazines, and moved to the shores of South Carolina. It was there that I continued my love for writing and fashion as a freelance model and blogger meeting and collaborating with so many innovative creators. An event planning agency taught me everything I know about constructing a beautiful and engaging event, but the editorial world of the written word had never left my mind. It was then that The Face Magazine allowed me to hone my writing by interviewing some of the most talented and amazing facets in the fashion industry. I am now honored to accept the role as Editor-In-Chief. In the process of determining the course of this magazine, I had to look at the world of fashion today and I saw something amazing; we are living in an era of rapid change. Vivid and complex evolution takes place with every season and it seems the rise of the rebellious is well underway. I see those who thrive in the chaotic and unpredictable times ahead welcoming the doubts of the unknown without fear. It is a gift to see the uncertainty that lies before and envision the decisive shifts we come to look to. This new-look issue of The Face Magazine is to celebrate those curious revolutionaries, those who empower and think differently, leaving their mark in this industry. It is a pleasure to meet you all!
